Right-wing student at Sussex? Your professors think you're a problem that needs 'dealing with'

Scarcity. There is not enough stuff to go around. This is genetically inbuilt in to every right wingers brain. So when lefties want free hospital parking for carers we think "Well how much will that cost the hospital? Will it affect patient care? Will it be expensive to administer? What if carers park there to do their shopping?"

That is not as much a right wing position as you think - it's fairly non-partisan, at least as far as public perception and the media go.

Interestingly that poll suggests people are split between whether the user or the government should pay for hospital parking fees, and overwhelmingly feel it's a tax on the sick.

You could even argue the complete opposite in some cases e.g. typically (but not always) the right will put less emphasis on protecting the environment. Possible more true in other areas of the anglosphere (America, Australia) - here in the UK I think most people want to protect the environment on a local scale, although I would definitely argue that the left put more emphasis on combating climate change.
