A bit late to the party but... anyways.

Every day we build a world with less freedom of speech because we have somehow accepted that it is okay to let everyone set the limits of their offense anywhere and brigade to have them respected. This starts with religious entitlement but now coats every single aspect of our society, starting with humor.

Sure you are entitled to be offended. But I don't have to change my points of view to not offend you. Without being confronted by ideas we become an isolated circlejerk.

And some may argue that not every idea should be respected. And that's entirely right. Ideas are not meant to be respected, they are meant to be confronted, they are meant to be debated, even ridiculized and laughed at. People are the ones that are to be respected, not ideas.

Your ideas might suck, your ideas might be despicable according to my own set of ideas. But that doesn't entitle me to forbide them.

And now in the context of a game.

It is a bit hypocrital when we get in a game where we can murder each other and we accept that we are not murderers in real life but somehow when people does some kind of jokes that make others feel uncomfortable then they are endorsing those despicable ideas.

I am very open to change my mind in the presence of better arguments, but to me, this whole thing sounds like bullshit. People getting triggered and offended because others pick a name they don't like.
