trp when it first started really was kind of okay. It was mostly self-centered (and I say that as a good thing), and was about improving yourself and your reaction to situations to optimize return, e.g. if your girlfriend cheats on you, blame yourself and move on. There was no hatred for anyone or any group, hatred was mostly self-directed for the purpose of bettering oneself.
Now trp has become a parody of itself. It's mostly guys talking about how childish, idiotic, pedantic, conniving, heartless, and disgusting women are. The new stance seems to be that if only women weren't women then the world would be perfect, and there's nothing men can do but suffer women, and that there's nothing you can do but suffer. It's completely the opposite of what it used to be. My previous account had been on there from the beginning, and it got shadowbanned for "concern-trolling" when I mentioned that the sub used to be less whiny and more focused on having agency and utilitarianism and that it was veering into non-utilitarian misogyny. The mods think by censoring all meta content and discussion about the direction of the sub, they will stop trolls and angry feminists from destroying it - instead they've unwittingly done exactly what created all those bad feminist communities by creating a positive-feedback-loop/circlejerk of increasingly hivemind like comments that fosters a "us vs them" mentality. And the community becomes a parody of its former self.
I mean for fucks sake, look at some of the guys they've been getting behind. The fucknut from RSD who was sexually assaulting women in Japan (and getting away with it by taking advantage of japanese culture which is not to confront people when they are doing fucked up shit) and just writing hateful shit about other people. Now I'm no SJW, but the defense for these actions was that he was "joking."
Then they defended that kid from the college in the states who got banned from one of his lectures. The kid's fb posts clearly show he was just being a piece of shit and posting racist/misogynistic shit. He wanted that author to start the article with "nigger." Why? For no good fucking reason. And they supported this kid without question based on one article.
The latest thing I read was them supporting the unabomber. "Yeah he killed a bunch of people and he was a psychopath... but he said feminism is bad! This guy deserves our support!!!" You fucking serious? Are you really that fucking dense? Now I understand that a person and their ideas are separate entities. Just because Michael Jackson fucked some kids in the ass doesn't mean Billie Jean is a bad song. But the unabomber did what he did because of his writings and his beliefs. They weren't seperate. He was a psychopath. 4chan will support psychos sometimes, but even they're cognizant enough to know they're doing it because the psycho is fucked up and they're getting "epic lulz" out of it. TRP isn't.
Then there's the politics. TRP is increasingly becoming a place for extreme rightwingers to claim their politics is TRP. "If you don't unconditionally support capitalism and you don't hate the environment, you aren't TRP." Where did this shit come from? This has nothing to do with the original TRP, it's just another symptom of the positive feedback cycle they cornered themselves into. TRP is becoming stormfront 2.0 and they don't even seem to realize it.
And of course, like I said, you can't bring any of this up becuase you'll be banned. No "concern trolling." They don't yet, but it's just a matter of time at this pace before they start encouraging each other to beat women to "teach her" or some shit.
