As far as I know, the current FLSA sets the minimum annual salary for exempt salary positions at $35,568 annually. So this must be a hourly position.
A lot of places like restaurants skirt around that by "promoting" like line cooks to assistant manager positions at like $36k annual salary, and then forcing them to work 60-70 hour weeks which effectively has them earning minimum wage per hour. Also why an increase was negotiated out for PA recently
