Yeah, this cube is definitely not made to be a speedcube, and it never tried to be. But that doesn't change the fact that it's terrible for both speedcubers and beginners alike. It pisses off the pros and turns off the beginners.

You also can't ignore the competition which has gotten really good in the past several years. That makes the shortcomings of the original inexcusable.

At least the classic design, while crude, is pretty cool and makes the Rubik's brand a great collector's item.

I guess the only reason they still make this cube the way it is, is because they want to continue the tradition of the Original. But this is at the cost of our community. Like I ranted about in my review, the original gives a terrible first impression and must have turned off countless potential cubers. That's one of the things that pissed me off most about this cube. It's really unpleasant to use and that causes people to think negatively about cubing.

Rubik's never let competitors make their own "knockoffs", you should give a shout-out to time for making the patent record expire and letting all these competitors exist.
