Gwynedd has more holiday homes than anywhere else in Wales.

It was incredibly sad to hear a couple of a weeks ago that there were less than 20 kids at the primary school I went to, less than half that went there a little over 10 years ago. The school's over a century old and will probably be closed soon. Young local parents can't bring up their kids in the villages they grew up in because they can't afford houses there.

It saddens and angers me that 50%+ of the houses in the village I grew up in are now holiday homes or houses belonging to arrogant English retirees who have lived here for years and refuse to integrate and acknowledge the Welsh language.

It's not just the homes though, the council flats even have alcoholic, English retirees living in them. How the fuck do they get priority over young local families who have been on housing lists for months if not years? Alright for the English retirees isn't it? Free home in a beautiful area so they can sit on their arse all day and drink wine whilst young local families who struggle to make ends meet don't have somewhere they can call home. It's wrong, very wrong.

The medieval church in the village was taken over a few years ago by English immigrants, services had been in Welsh for hundreds of years until they took over.. now the services are in English and Welsh speakers have to arrange their own services!!

I could go on and on....
