Russians running opponents into the ground at the World Cup and the whispers are growing louder

I find this all a bit pathetic. They’ve beaten two crap teams without playing well, but suddenly someone noticed they’ve run quite a lot, so that must mean they’re all cheating.

Obviously Russia has previous for this in other sports, but are we supposed to assume that FIFA aren’t testing any players at the World Cup? Are we supposed to believe that they’re doping so much it’s made them all better players in the last few weeks?

Uruguay aren’t a great team, so they could potentially beat them in the final group game, but I doubt they’ll get past Spain or Portugal. It’s just lazy and too easy to act like there are obvious signs they are cheating instead of thinking that their performances so far could be thanks to home field advantage, playing two rubbish teams and some luck.
