Saudi Arabia bombing Yemen's schools, Amnesty International claims | The UN has described the humanitarian situation inside Yemen as 'critical'

Ok well, in Yemen, the state motto is literally "death to Israel. Death to America. Victory for Islam." Yemen is also a big hub for al qaeda and other illegal entities because of its proimity to Africa. Obviously Yemen is under some bad circumstances but until recently things were relatively stable.

The Houthi movement sprang up from a martyred group that protested Saudi influence and the gov't at the time, this is circa 2004. Jump to the Arab Spring and the Houthi movement has become only bigger and a general protest of the corrupt government. They acquire a lot of support from Iran and its allies, and they oust the government. They actually did it, they took the capital and a large amount of territory in the West of the country. But there's still whole other massive portions dominated by different ethnic groups in the country. The Houthis are Shia, the other areas, as well as the whole of the Arabian peninsula are Sunni.

So what does Saudi Arabia do? Use the advancing rebels as a ploy to bomb the hell out of Yemen. They have the money to buy all the weapons they need, and the authority to do whatever they please in the area. Like really, who would stop them? Not the US, whos name is boldly displayed on the thousands of bomb shells that land on Yemen now.

So they bomb pretty much everywhere the Houthis control. This means they kill the houthis in huge numbers, which in turn makes them even more radicalized against the Saudis and likewise Sunnis, which then makes the local Sunni populations extremely supportive of the Saudi effort. All Saudi Arabia has to do is bomb them until support troops can move in and take over.

Thus Saudi Arabia has qwelled a rebellion and installed and ally. The Islamic State is a huge clusterfcuk of a thing idrk where i was going with that
