On the other side of the coin are players like me that rarely used detective mode because they just didn't like it. I never felt compelled to use it and don't think that I ever did beyond where it was necessary. I couldn't tell you why I didn't use it as I definitely have what you called "gamer OCD"; I just...didn't use it. My only guess is that I don't really feel compelled to collect all collectables in games that are riddle with them for the sake of having a lot of collectables.

I'm not entirely sure what the solution would be as I also see detective mode as vital to those Batman games - the game seems like it would be too frustrating for most players without it.
