Seller possibly inflating their own reviews?

Since there are buyers like you AND me who would rather buy from trusted sellers with multiple reviews or a brand that is reputable, when you open your Etsy shop, it is immensely difficult to jumpstart your shop and get sales. I opened my shop at first to sell my moms handmade necklaces and I wanted to see some results. After a week or two of no sales, I brought them to the office and two of my friends really liked them and bought 2 through Etsy. One bought it as a guest and couldn’t even leave a message. Lol. But the other one did leave a review and it was an honest one. Because she picked it, she liked it and she wore it, multiple times. I then had a 3rd “stranger” sale and from there on it began. There’s nothing wrong with that. I have over 80 five star reviews now.

When it comes to pebbermintco it is probably a mixture of random buyers, friends, and maybe one or two repeat customer. But 100 sales and not a single 1 star review makes me believe that it is a decent product.

When it comes to you, the buyer, I think you are reading too much into it, wasting too much time on it, and making this a bigger deal than it is, to be honest. She accepts returns, if you don’t like them, return them. End of story.

I pity the store owner that got so much attention for no good reason. The owner probably is aware of this thread by now or trying to figure it out why her visitor numbers are 10 fold with no change in sales.
