[Serious] Black users of reddit, What is your opinion on blacklivesmatter?

Last year around 1000 people were fatally wounded by cops, so this year I might expect the same. Last year there was a relatively even distribution of the races of the people shot, once again this year I might expect the same. Therefore I should expect 130 or so black people to be fatally wounded by cops this year.

I honestly feel as if this has become such a hot button topic that media outlets have become disproportionately focused on what is the current controversial issue. This isn't a left/right issue this is the media exploiting real concerns by presenting a entertaining narrative for people to become outraged with. This always happens with any sort of heavily politicized issue.

I'm not convinced the issue here is racial in it's nature, as I have not been presented with any solid evidence which leads me to beleive so. I'm more confident that the issue is the way in which cops have been trained to deal with conflict and use force. We should not separate ourselves into groups and start arguing on who has it worse based on our 'lived experiences' as is what most people would call immensely childish behaviour and will solve.nothing. The real debate should be about the actual use of force, not the unverifiable motives behind that use of force.
