[Serious] Christians turned atheists, what made you lose your faith?

I'm not really an atheist, I still believe that there's something out there, but the stories told in the Ghristian church are dumb, there's no compassion for creation, God doesn't care that my grandmother who went to church every chance she could her whole life, was a very kind and caring woman, and a beacon for her family and community. She's still got an inoperable benign tumor on her brain causing her to have severe dementia symptoms. It doesn't care that my aunt on the other side of my family guilted her mother out of 9 thousand dollars to pay her bills so she could spend her money on a new dog and a week long trip to Florida.

The only love, compassion, and justice that exists in this world is what we make for ourselves and others, I learned that the hard way.
