[Serious] Why is Nintendo getting hate for the American SNES preorder debacle?

While the demand is outstripping the preorder supply at the moment, it's less clear if that will stay true throughout the unit's lifespan. Nintendo has actively said that they are going to be producing the SNES classic for the rest of the year if I'm not misremembering. We're at peak hype right now as well, so demand is very likely near its peak.

If they end up having significantly more stock long-term though, things should start to equalize. A lot of people seem to think they won't based on the past. Which I don't blame them for. But I doubt Nintendo is going to blow most of their entire supply this early. I'm guessing there will be a major supply increase closer to the holidays. My guess is that's when they're saving the most stock for.

If supply ends up being higher than many here assume, raising the price would have helped in the short term. But it could hurt them long term. They could drop the price if supply catches up in a few months. But then people would bought it early would be upset about it. Which has happened before with the 3DS price drop.
