[Serious] Reddit, what is your "be careful what you wish for story"?

I guess I can put mine here too.

When I was a kid in like middle school I used to read a lot of comic books. Got my hands on a japanese one at some point and went apeshit obsessive over it. It had a badass gang of people rollerblading on it. I roller bladed at the time and thought it was the coolest thing ever that theirs had rockets attached to theirs and they could ride buildings and all that stuff.

That's not the point though. I went full daydream mode over one of the characters who was a little kid with an eyepatch. He obsessively followed one of the main people around and i for some reason just thought it would be amazing if i had someone do that to me. In particular there was this scene where the kid waits for that person to get out the bathroom... it was odd but i wanted someone to have that sort of ... devotion?? For me i guess haha.

Fast forward to the end of high school. I completely forgot about my short lived obsession with that kid for years now. Moved on to bigger, better things. Mom says she's pregnant. I leave for college. She ends up having two kids and I visit rarely so I only get to see them grow in snippets.

Fast forward to me coming home this past week graduated. My little brother won't leave me alone. He follows me everywhere and even waits for me to leave the bathroom chattering the whole time. He has an eye patch because he has a lazy eye and my parents are actively trying to fix it. I unknowingly also got him rollerblades from a thrift store as a peace offering type gift.

Sitting on the toilet now wondering why this all seems familiar. Remember. Start typing away on my phone. Thanks for enduring my tale.

TLDR. Kid popped straight out of a storybook.
