[Serious] Sociopaths of reddit, what made you realise that you are one? did you try to change anything?

Again, according the Robert Hare, there is no difference. If you know a better expert than he is, please list the expert.

As for therapy, scientific studies have shown the treatments are equal across populations. I.e., what works for one, works for the other. Identically. Leading credence to the idea that they are the same illness. The problem is, empathy is not there -- and empathy cannot be taught.

What has the treatment done? Well, in the bigger prison experiments, treatment shows that recidivism rates are significantly increased (i.e., statistically shown to be far higher than chance). Standard tests for empathy show that there is no change (Check out Simon Baron-Cohen...he is cousin to Sasha...he developed some of the more proven tests that can be used in their world). HOWEVER, identification of emotions have learned to be better, and thus...better criminals.

In prison they SEEMED to be more well adjusted, but they learned to be better conmen, they learned to get out on parole easier, they learned to focus on delayed gratification a little more...and it was THOUGHT that at the very least, they were less violent and were able to use their new skills to achieve the same criminal ends without harming others. However, turns out they learned to either conceal far more violent crime or convince folks to not report it...years later, we find they seem more civil, but are far more likely to commit -- and get away with -- more violent crime, and are more likely to reenter the prison system.

The treatment does not work. And this is the short and long of it. I wish it did. So please, downvote me because your 'opinion', while I'll keep posting science (which anyone can use to look up and do their own research).
