[Serious] Teachers of reddit, what "red flags" have you seen in your students? What happened?

I worked in an elementary school for about 6 months, and spent a good two months of that working as a one-on-one aid for a new kid with anger problems. Perpetual scowl on his face, was nasty to the other kids, very stubborn, refused to follow directions, all over defiant. He resented me for doing my job, following him, correcting him, being with him constantly (as I was instructed to do, even after having pointed out how much better he performed when I gave him space). I don't blame him for that - he's just a kid and I was his PIA keeper. Most of the class did not like him, and he'd bully the kids who previously had gone out of their way to be a friend to him. His family situation didn't seem great, he seemed to be the overlooked special needs eldest child who vied for attention against a set of younger twins and a new baby by his step mom (who seemed to be raising him). He'd physically threaten me with pencils, would thrust them near my face, and would say things to try and hurt me 7 year old style - "your car is ugly", "you'll never be a teacher", etc. Teachers in the lounge remarked that he seemed like the type of kid to grow up and shoot up public places. One day I corrected him on the playground he furiously removed a 4 in. long pointy lock pick from his coat. The pencils were one thing, they were accessible. The lock pick showed intention, which is terrifying behavior for any age let alone a 7 year old. A few days later I was moved. He got a new aid who was instructed to give him more space and he seemed to be doing a little better. I hope he gets the intervention he needs to sort out his anger issues or he's going to grow into one scary adult.
