Nebraska Ranks #9 for People With Degrees Leaving Their State

I think you're being down voted because you're right and people can't take it.

As a transplant from Michigan, the lackadaisical, overall slowness of Nebraskan natives is downright infuriating. Everywhere you go here, it's people stuck in their own little bubbles because they're the only ones who are important enough to exist, doing 5-10 under the speed limit, and they wonder why 75 between all the Bellevue exits and L street are always a nightmare? I'm so happy when I get to go home because as soon as I get out of Iowa (just as bad) and cross the Illinois border, it's like magic happens and suddenly traffic is actually moving. The only thing keeping me here is the fact that my SO is here, and even he wants out. We can't fathom staying in an area that preaches willful ignorance and views education as a threat, regardless of political affiliation or curriculum (sex ed, anyone?)

I hadn't even lived here a week before someone accosted me for wearing a hoodie for my second division, little known Michiganian alma mater. This lady literally spat in my face, "We're going to beat you!" I replied that we weren't even in the same division and never played each other. The response? "Well we'd still beat you." It was not a good first impression of Huskers fans nor Nebraskans in general, and nothing has happened since to change my mind.

I'd love to either go back to Michigan, now that it's beginning to recover, or go to South Dakota where we can disappear in the Black Hills at our leisure.
