[serious] when is a time that you realize how much your mom or dad loves you?

my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and she raised 3 kids. after college, i worked landed a high paying salary job, and have been working for over 20 years.

ever since i got the job, my mom asked for $1000 every month. the money wasn’t a problem for me, as i enjoyed a rather extravagant lifestyle. i was more than happy to give her at the beginning, but i grew mildly irritated after a few years. my mindset was that “if she needed anything, she could just ask and i would give her, instead of making sure that i transfer money to her bank account every month like i was paying a monthly bill”.

after she passed away, i received over $250K from her, and i was livid at how she could have had so much money. i realized that she had never spent a cent from the money that i gave her, and kept it safe for me because she was worried of my lifestyle and saved it for those “rainy days”.
