[Serious] When's the last time you were truly afraid, like a child in a dark room?

Okay, this is gonna be a long one, so grab your popcorn. About six months ago I decided to try LSD for the first time. A few of my friends had done it before and had only good things to say about it. Me and one of my best friends, we'll call him Mike met up at his house around midday, grabbed some supplies (food, water, etc.) and headed to the nearby woods to meet another friend, we will call him Hannibal. (Keep in mind, I was not very close to Hannibal, but we were in the same group of friends and got along fine.) I will take a second here to say; if you ever do LSD, do it in a comfortable environment, with people you know. Going on.. We get to the woods and throw the tabs in our mouths. I was definitely nervous going in, but also excited to trip for my first time. Hannibal and Mike had both tripped plenty of times before, so they were there to serve as "guides" during my journey. The day started off AMAZING! We walked around the local reservoirs and spent some time chilling and talking in a few different spots. Eventually, we found a little peninsula that stuck out into the middle of the lake, we knew this was the place we wanted to stay at during "the peak." After about an hour on the island (maybe 3 hours into the trip,) I zoned in from some crazy visuals and realized that Hannibal was on the phone with his girlfriend. I was a little put off at the time because, 1) why would you want to talk to someone not tripping while having an experience with your friends, and 2) I had already not really wanted Hannibal there since we weren't very close. Here's where things start to go downhill... fast. After a few minutes talking to his girlfriend, Hannibal gets a confused, almost ape like expression on his face. He looks around, as if confused to see Mike and I talking. He holds out his phone to me and I take it. I hear his girlfriend ask if I want to hear what her teabag says (WTF?.) I tell her no, I don't really care. Suddenly, Hannibal stands up and aggressively pins my arm to the ground with his foot, then takes the phone and resumes listening to his girlfriend ramble. Mike and I look at each other like, "did that just happen?" Hannibal stays on the phone, mostly silent and listening to his girlfriend talk, while Mike and I go back to having some good conversation, confused by Hannibal, but we've moved on. Once again, Hannibal gets the confused look on his face and announces he needs to be alone. He plugs his headphones in to his phone and walks to a different part of the island, whether to talk to his GF or to listen to music, I don't know. After maybe an hour, we realize Hannibal has left the island/peninsula so we begin calling his name. Out of the forest he comes running, directly through thorn bushes and branches, cutting his face and arms. This is when we start to realize something is off. We ask him if he is okay and what he's been doing. No response. We continue to ask him, trying to draw some response, but we are only answered with blank, confused looks. Right around this time the sun begins to set... great. Mike and I realize that Hannibal seems to be having some kind of bad trip, but seeing as we are still in the peak of our own trips, are not really sure what to do. As we start to pack our stuff to head out of the woods, Hannibal is getting weirder and weirder. What began as strange ape-like expressions and silence turns suddenly murder-sexual. Hannibal, with slowly increasing repetition begins fingering his mouth and buttcrack, while half mumble-whispering incoherent words. He is also putting his hands on Mike's face in a grabbing, clawing manner. At this point, I am starting to freak out.

After a few minutes of trying to calm him, and trying to remain calm ourselves, things get even weirder.

"SEXXXXXXX!" he screams at the top of his lungs. Followed by silence. Mike and I are both unnerved and ask him what the fuck is going on. No response. We try to talk to him, to reason some kind of response to let us know our friend is still in there... Nothing. We decide it is time to get the fuck out of these woods. It is dark now and our friend has apparently lost his mind. Here follows the scariest half hour of my life. I take the lead with my phone flashlight lighting the path, while Mike is in back with his light on Hannibal. We kept him between us, both for his safety and our own. During this walk in the dark woods, Hannibal reaches super-saiyan demon level, continuing to screech "sex" at the top of his lungs, in random intervals. I begin to feel an unnerving tension. (Think a slow screeching draw on a violin string, like in a horror movie, that snaps at every scream.) As we proceed through this walk of terror, the random yells begin to change.. "I AM GOD!" silence.... Mike and I continue to try to get a hold of the situation, attempting to comfort each other and ourselves, but WE ARE TERRIFIED. We think our friend is possessed by a demon or has lost his mind, and WE. ARE. TRIPPING. "KILL ME NOW!" he screams. I can't take it anymore, I can't keep sitting here, nervously awaiting his next outburst. I turn around and start yelling at him, telling him to "Man the fuck up, and shut the fuck up" "I don't know who you are or what you are, but GO FUCK YOURSELF" I yell. It helps some, it feels good to take the silence over with my own voice, to at least have some minor control. Hannibal stops walking. I turn around and put my flashlight on him (god I wish I hadn't.) As if standing in a spotlight on stage, Hannibal looks off in the distance "I am perfectly content" he says with a shit-eating grin on his face. He then slides his hands over his face (think dad with baby, doing the face changing thing,) as he puts on a frown "I am sad, kill me now." he says. My mind is literally fucked at this point, I don't know if he's faking, I don't know if I am witnessing a demon, I just don't know. MIND=FUCKED. All we can do is to press on towards civilization, where we hope we will be safe from our possessed friend. After what seems like an eternity, with our insane demon child, we finally make it to a parking lot off of the main road. Mike and I hope that this is our salvation, we don't have any plan for what to do, but it is comforting to see normal society. As soon as we step into the parking lot however, Hannibal begins spinning in circles, "dancing" towards the busy street. Mike and I have to forcibly restrain him and drag him back to the edge of the woods to stop him from death by car. Mike sits on him to stop him from endangering himself, while I call his sister. (Let me mention again, this is my first time on LSD and I had no idea things like this could happen. ) At this point I am panicking, wondering if we should call an ambulance, wondering if our friend has done serious brain damage, wondering when this nightmare will end. His sister eventually calms me down, and we decide to wait it out at the edge of the woods. After about an hour, of waiting, talking and generally freaking the fuck out. Hannibal perks up. I ask him if he is okay to which he simply responds "yeah." He still has that confused look on his face, but this is the first time he has shown signs of cognition in the past 3 hours. Suddenly, he blurts out "it's funny that I'm here." Confused, Mike and I ask what he means. He goes silent for a little, before he says "It's just funny that I'm here, with you guys." Turns out, this kid blacked out, and when he came to, thought he was dead and in heaven. He remembers nothing from the walk or the island, except a vague feeling of being the oldest man on earth. Mike and I take him home and stay up all night traumatized as fuck. My relationship with Hannibal has never recovered, and I can safely say that was the scariest, most traumatic experience of my life.

TL,DR: Try acid, friend blacks out (unknown to myself,) becomes possessed demon, terror walk through dark woods, friends thinks he died.
