"Shift-ready"

Pull up a shift supervisor job description on hub. This is probably up to date.

Same thing for barista.

Here are the differences I notice:

"Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve partner performance. "

"Develops positive relationships with shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs and concerns. "

"Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned"

"Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by shift team."

"cash management practices are followed by shift team.  Follows up with baristas during the shift to ensure the delivery of legendary customer service for all customers."

There ya go. That's the only differences I noticed in comparing responsibilities. Not much.

So here's the deal, Starbucks is all about 'opportunities'.... in normal human speak that is translated to "I'm not super great at...".

Take whatever thing is an 'opportunity' for you from the list of responsibilities that differ from your current position. Frame it in a way that is comparable to answering 'what's your greatest weakness?'. Better to choose something you are actually good at than to be honest at this level. Makes you look good now that they are paying attention to that.
