You might not know what RLOD is. Let me explain. The boosted board is cool because it has electric motors that power you around. Now picture the same board but the motors don't work and the only thing your board does is blink a red light, that is "Red light of Death." The Amnesia mod chip makes your dead board with blinky red light turn green again and then the motors can get you moving again and having fun. Since you just got the board, your board is at the highest risk RIGHT NOW of getting the "RLOD." To reduce your high risk, I recommend charging the board for two weeks DAY and NIGHT (if you have time) and after that your risk of RLOD will be lower. It sucks that this is the reality, but Boosted released a firmware update once they found out the batteries were doing this very often and unfortunately, your battery is on the OLD firmware (2.1.7) version. The Amnesia chip is good at reviving old firmware batteries so that is what you want.
