should i buy it for my first car?

You've hit the nail on the head with some of the cons, the amount of KM's and the expense of it being a Euro car.

Run the car through car sales, Redbook etc and get a feel for the pricing. You probably have an idea of how well the car has been left after, but have a look at the service records and get a feel for how well it's been looked after and whether there have been major issues. Can also run quotes for comprehensive on that car Vs a getz (or similar) and see how much risk the industry think you are...

7k isn't a bad budget for a car. I personally wouldn't deal with family on something like that but hopefully your family isn't as crazy as mine...
