You know how Saturday Night Live is the holy grail of comedy, but only at an early point in a comedian’s career, thereby making the practice of overstaying ultimately stifling to your professional growth? That’s what Denton is like, and as far as film is concerned, Dallas is only slightly better.

Not that I’m an expert or veteran in film/television at all, but I know lots of people who have worked in that industry, and from what I’ve heard, you basically have to get into LA or NYC if you’re really wanting to hit the pavement. In rare occasions, you can find work in Atlanta and Austin, but California and New York are where the lion’s share of work in RTVF is available.

So to answer your question: it depends on where you’re at in life, but if you’re really serious about film, don’t let Dallas be your endgame.
