Why you should never click on an AKP article again

Hey, mod on r/kpop here. Someone else sent this my way so I'll try and respond to a few points.

The AKP discussion has been something that's been discussed for years even before I joined the mod team (4 years ago soon). There's many factors involved when it comes to allowing and disallowing AKP, but I'll try and shed some light on the situation. I'll also quote a few statements that I see thrown around in this thread that's just false.

  1. The articles usually cover fields that other publications don't cover.
  2. Those said articles are interesting enough for our users to engage with and they don't seem to mind that the articles actually originate from AKP.
  3. Internally in the mod team it's been discussed every single year. Both old timers and newcomers to the squad are pretty much split upon if it should be allowed or not. It's not an easy discussion for us. Usually we have a Town Hall where we discuss exactly this but after COVID has hit our team has been just trying to get through each month as they come.
