Simple Questions - June 13, 2016

Yesterday I posted my first pc build and it only got a few comments so I'll try again here.

I'm a first time builder and I want to make sure the build I've put together looks good. If there's any way I can save money on something I'd prefer to go that route. I will be waiting for the RX 480 at the end of the month. Would love to hear any advice or opinions!

Some further questions I have: 1. After watching the newer videos on how to build a PC, the only part that I'm still confused about was talked about in their second video. What is SATA, AHCI, and RAID, and what is the difference? Is this something I should worry about for my mobo? If so I'd appreciate it someone could direct me to a good video or guide explaining this topic.

  1. Basically the same thing as number 1 except regarding drives. After watching a bunch of videos and reading guides, I've only now heard about installing drives to help enhance the PC. Again I'd love a quick explanation, or a link to some helpful information!

I apologize for the long post! I don't have any intention on being spoonfed here, I'm just so excited to put together my first build and I want to make sure I'm informed about everything possible before starting.

Thanks for reading!
