Simple Questions - October 28, 2016

I am a casual FPS gamer and just picked up BF1. My current rig is running very poorly trying to play multiplayer. I had some guidance building this machine in 2012 and that friend is no longer around.

I believe I need a new video card as mine comes up as below minimum specs. I want to have it somewhat future compatible so that if the rest of my hardware gets more dated I could still use the new card in an updated build.

I'm willing to spend $200-300 (USD) on a video card if it gets modern games back to running with good performance. Looking at Newegg I'm seeing a lot of RX480 8GB cards but after looking at AMD's website I can't really make sense out of whether that is a current card or how the model number scheme really works.

Is the video card my main concern or do I need to be looking at updating other parts of my system as well?
For the video card should I be looking at the RX480 (I've seen it mentioned in other posts) or is there another preferred option?

Here are my current PC specs and the links to the hardware that I purchased in 2012.
