Here are the court documents, does anybody have a Unicourt membership? It would be interesting to see whether his beginner status is emphasized in the case, or does he claim that the instructor pulled of a illegal move.

On his website, he claims that his "my neck was crushed in an illegal move done by my black belt instructor at the time during a Jiu Jitsu sparring session."

He also isn't a complete beginner, as apparently he has gold medaled in an IBJJF tournament one and a half year before the incident.
