Is social media damaging us?

Because this is very comparable to a building on fire. Yep.

Come on. You know that it isn't.

Let's stay on target here. It was a metaphor. Insisting on seeing it as a direct comparison is missing the point.

We can spend time cataloging the damage. Sure. It's academically interesting. But you posted this on a self-improvement forum. So why take it personally when someone is like, "Hey, there's a solution to this problem so people can improve?"

Knowing and discussing how it messes us up is useful, not to mention interesting.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." This saying exists for a reason.

Don't you like knowing how things work and why they are bad or good?

Sure. But again. Self-improvement forum. That's the focus here. I'm sure you've read the sidebar.

NoFap is case by case but if you masturbate every day, sometimes several times per day and do so regularly with porn. You have a problem and there's no amount of bullshit you can say or do to get off the hook.

I said I've never fallen in with the whole need to stop masturbating altogether and you jump to diagnosing a problem.

I'm sure you can see the problem with jumping to conclusions. There's no hook for me to get off of.

I mean it legitimately fucks with your brain. You can just watch "your brain on porn" by Gary wilson. It's on youtube. If you want anyway.

You're just wasting your time and mine at this point.

I don't know why you seem to think NoFap is seen as a cure to everything. I don't and neither do most sensible people.

Because the extremists show up on this forum and it's not uncommon for them to suggest that the answer to almost any problem is to stop masturbating. It's almost ridiculous sometimes.

I'll just come out and say that I have never done any kind of NoFap challenge and it's never affected my game one way or another.

You don't really know if you have not attempted. Nor will you know.

I just go with the flow. Sometimes masturbation happens. Sometimes not for weeks. And it literally hasn't affected my game one way or another.

You really need to get in the habit of asking clarifying questions before you jump to conclusions. Wastes less time.

But honestly, to paraphrase Julien Blanc: You've seen behind the curtain. You have a chance to be better. You know it's possible now. If you don't do it, it's because you don't want to.

Now you're coming off like an extremist if you're claiming that NoFap is behind the curtain and offering some chance to be "better." It's a placebo effect at BEST.
