Why do some late 90s borns here act as if mid 90s borns are hard to relate to?

We early 2000 borns get accused for wanting to associate with older but I never see people accuse you guys for wanting to associate with younger. Hypocrisy to say the least. I agree with you it’s unsettling to see but I attribute it to insecurities but also to ageism and generationism. In reality you have bunch of similarities with them and and the dynamic between you work out pretty well on a large scale. Some forget that because of the generational war wrong labels have been thrown around stereotyping individuals from both generations and highlighting made up differences in a way that some will now say that they feel or worse identify with a generation when in reality it’s just a plot media and companies uses to create an imaginary cohort of emerging young adults that somehow should be different from those preceding them. In that way they create a consumer attitude and flush out what’s worn out. Now the new fresh generation can form a new identity with tons of new brands, products and media.
