As soon as these two assailants start kicking the boy on the ground, would I be justified to use deadly force to stop them?

Do both of those assailants deserve to be shot? Probably.

If that was my kid they were attacking, would I shoot until the threat is stopped (ok in my state)? Absolutely.

If it wasn't my kid would I intervene? Shit I don't know. My CCW is for the protection of myself and the protection of my family. I always say don't involve yourself in third party incidents, but this one isn't an easy one.

Call me a coward, but I'm not trying to be a melon labia operator dispensing justice. If this fight broke out, my first priority is getting my family to safety. Now if these fine church-going future astronauts came after my wife or kid as we were fleeing, game on.
