[Spoilers] Charlotte - Episode 11 [Discussion]

I'll preface by saying I've really been enjoying this show but these last few episodes have been ruining the season for me. All shows in general really don't seem to think time travel through properly. It all started when Yuu regained his memories. How in the hell do you explain him regaining memories specific to a different timeline in the future? The brother had the siblings memories erased so that he could conduct his operations in the future. If anything was to be remembered its just that they had a brother. There are many more inconsistencies with time travel than that but let's give Maeda that. So he regains his memories of a timeline in the future he hasn't experienced. A future where he is subject to tests, treated like livestock, and finally takes control of their predicament. You immediately undid all of the character development for the entire season in this episode. I get they want to make the brother look amazing but that came at the expense of undoing all the experiences that MC went through to get to this point. All of a sudden he acts weak, petty, loses all of his drive to secure a future for his sister. He seems unfazed and more perplexed when he hears that Tomori is kidnapped. I think everyone has noted the pacing is way too rapid, and everything is feeling rather forced now. I didn't feel anything for Poo's death. I don't think we could. We have no attachment to him as a character. Tomori fights off the first guy but then can't make herself invisible to the next one who comes in the exact same way as the last. Then gets kidnapped and stripped? They went so far in this show without fanservice. Now lets talk about all the fucking abilities Yuu has. One of them is flying. Flying. Pretty useful. You think if Yuu is going into a known trap, the current him would be very aware of the intricacies of his own ability (due to regaining his memory). I could go on forever but my point is I'm very disappointed how forced and rushed this is becoming. Maeda is changing everything he built in his characters in order to bring everything to a close. And the result will be no emotional impact. I have very little investment in these characters.
