(Spoilers Extended) A Rhaegar/Lyanna Marriage

"When King’s Landing fell, Ser Jaime slew your king with a golden sword, and I wondered where you were.”

"Far away,” Ser Gerold said, “or Aerys would yet sit the Iron Throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells.”

I think it's interesting that they are still loyal to Aerys but for some reason they weren't there to protect him. There are theories about them siding with Rhaegar over Aerys. But reading these sentences, that doesn't really look right. Are we sure Aerys didn't send them to do what Rhaegar wants lol?

"Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell. "But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.”

They are supposed to protect the King. If the previous one dies, you'd expect them to go to the next in line. Not wait around for someone further down the line probably, no? I think they see Jon as the heir (or King seeing as everyone else is dead) at this point. I think that's been probably the case despite Aegon and Viserys being alive at different times. That's pretty interesting. That must mean Jon has a better claim than Viserys. But that must also mean Jon had a better claim then his big brother too. Exactly under which circumstances could that be possible?? What does make the claim of a big brother invalid and makes the little one the heir?? Can Rheagar make it so by just his words as their father despite not being the King at any time? Or is it something else nullifying Aegon's claim or pushing him down the order?
