[Spoilers extentended] R+L does not =J

I find the obsession with Jon’s parentage so bizarre. What does it even matter? The Iron Throne was created by Aegon I and it will probably be unimportant in the new world after the NK war. It isn’t magic or ancient. It’s just a chair in a realm that no longer respects or fears a single ruler. Each kingdom very clearly wants to be independent again. So what if he’s heir to the iron throne? It doesn’t matter if the iron throne itself won’t exist after KL blows TF up. Even if it doesn’t go to vaper Robert himself proved that in a world without a nuclear threat aka dragons, anyone can steal the throne for themselves.

Moreover, I hate hate hate the fact that Rhaegar was married with children to Elia and we’re to believe that not only did he get his marriage nullified which after having children isn’t a possibility but that he wed a woman who by her fathers decree was betrothed to another man? Why would he even do this? He had no right to marry her by the law of the land. Her father was the one to decide. It also makes no sense that the bloody prince would marry a highborn girl in a secret ceremony to begin with . She isn’t some peasant girl he could never be with. She also wasn’t some peasant girl that could continue to be unwed outside of their secret union. What exactly was the plan for after that secret wedding? They did expect to have children together someday I assume? How could anything from this whole wacky ass storyline make sense for two highborn’s from prominent ANCIENT families make sense? It doesn’t and it’s not romantic. It’s sad and selfish and doesn’t fit with the world of GoT. They just couldn’t do what they did and ever except to be together. Lyanna would be married off to some proper high lord whether anyone knew about their R+L marriage or not. Was he just planning on staying in Dorne? Why would a Stark run away from her home and family? I just don’t but this whole thing. Yes it’s on the show. Yes this actually happened according to Bran//Sam. It’s just bad writing imo on D&Ds part.
