I'm probably going to get downvoted for saying this but, even as someone who considers himself a huge SpongeBob fan (someone who can recite nearly every line from the first three seasons when watching alongside the show), playing this game, even as a kid, didn't give me any more satisfaction than your average licensed game. I really fail to see the appeal, let alone, a reason to remaster the game.

In effort to understand the hype, I've tried watching 'Let's Plays' to see if maybe something went over my head as a kid, but judging from the comments and requests made from the fans, it seems like most of the attention is directed towards the dialogue, so fans will either request that the 'Let's Players' don't talk over the dialogue, or complain when they do talk over it. Although this is a common request in games that have witty dialogue, this game seems like it's mostly driven by references to specific events or episodes of the show and, in my eyes, that's not a great direction to take when making a game. I'm not impartial to licensed games either; in fact, I remember enjoying the GBA version of Revenge of the Flying Dutchman game more than this game.
