I’m sorry but I’m also a step kid and don’t necessarily see what you mean by seeing someone as the “real” parent? Did I allude at any point to wanting to replace his mother? Are there step parents on this sub? Because you guys have been largely unhelpful, honestly. Did you not read the part about suicide threats?? Threats of abandonment??

What I don’t want is an SS turning up to our doorstep in 10 years time, having endured the same emotional, psychological and physical abuse as DH and asking why we did fight to give him a more stable environment when we had the chance. Seriously, did you read any of my post or my comments??

It sounds as though you’re thinking of this from your point of view and experiences, not mine, nor SS’s or DH’s.
