I personally hope some level of criticism simply isn't welcome on this sub. There's an entire Internet out there to discuss ContraPoints in whatever light one likes -- can't there be a moderated space dedicated to its fans? Shouldn't this be that?

umm this isn't a fully formed idea so please keep that in mind when responding to it, I mean try to consider i t and not just dismiss it because its phrased badly, but I feel like being shielded from criticism as a fanbase just makes unhealthy parasocial relationships or "stan culture" or whatever you wana call it worse.

also like I said, it causes people to get more riled up. Increases the divide.

I personally thought the thread two days ago was extremely elucidating in terms of what people could have reasonably expected from Natalie.

I don't wana argue about that cause it was already done to death, what im concerned with is people downplaying or outright denying that buck angel is bad. I feel like the mods should pin a post with all the receipts of stuff hes done and lock it so people don't have to keep providing the same things over n over.

Separately, I did spend time saying that Buck Angel wasn't a transmedicalist or an NB-phobe, so you may freely blame me for defending him on those counts.

ok, I blame you and its bad to defend him. When I see people defending him and saying he outright is not truscum and isn't enbyphobic it invokes the same feelings that I get when I see people defending shapiro, milo, peterson, etc. This isn't a comparison of buck angel to them, it is a way to try and ... I don't have the words, empathize, clearly explain, whatever, how hurtful it is to see people defending him.

When I see that happening I don't feel like that person is safe, if they don't recognize how bad buck is will they gloss over other problems when they are brought up? I probably need to say that this isn't being written to make you mad at me its being written because I want to try and like, get this, valid emotion, into your head, but words are hard. I'm still just trying to talk to you.

Are we going to be uninvited from the annual punch social? :(

Please, im trying to have a conversation with you this makes it harder. I could make jokes like this and be super snarky but im trying my best to tone police myself and its really difficult to keep doing that when i'm met with this?
