See this mentality of "whats the fuckin use of it?" is exactly whats wrong with Malaysians.

Countless of cultures, languages are dying because of "lets just standardize one thing". If globalisation teaches anything, its not uniformity but rather diversification.

With that logic, why the fuck are we still having niche languages in school like Ibanese, Tamil etc.

It promotes cultural appreciation and since it isnt even mandatory students dont even have to learn it by heart.

Why are these Malaysians so against learning new things that actually have meaning to the cultural settings? News flash buddy, not everyone is going to be doing business with international partners. Forcing all kids of the "trendy" shit like programming isnt gonna suddenly make Malaysia maju.

There are a lot of improvements that can be made to the Malaysian education system and integrating a more appreciation for anthropological aspect is certainly one of them.

Not everybodys gonna be part of the STEM. Reality is Malaysia is heavily dependant on farming, electronics manufacturing, tourism and less R&D.

The Malaysian education system should try to adapt to these instead. Teaching Jawi isnt just about telling kids how to write older version of Malay writing. With proper syllabuses, it can boost up appreciation for a culture.

And if your question is why arent we learning other calligraphies instead, the reason is simple; Malay archipelago is the origin of Jawi.

While we re are it as well lets actually fuckin teach kids about OUR orang batik, orang Asli and the cultures of the East Malaysian
