I hope y’all had a great Christmas!

So I’m lowkey freaking out but like in a good way, I think? I’ve been growing closer with one of my guy friends from my university program, because we’ve been bonding over applying to the same grad programs. I always thought he was pretty cute - I just never bothered considering him as anything more because I wasn’t as close to him as now. But, in the past 4 weeks or so, I’ve started to catch feels. I have no idea if he feels the same way though.

I live out of town now (not too far - 1.5 hours away), and we’ve been talking about getting drinks over the holidays for ages because lots happened in the past two months or so - I went through a breakup, he just finished his final semester of school, and we both got an interview invitation to the same grad program. We finally got around to setting up a day and time now that I’m back in town until the 3rd.

I assumed we would be going to a pub or dive bar as we’ve been often when we were in a group together. But when I asked about the place, he totally shocked me by suggesting a restaurant that’s slightly more upscale. They are known for their drinks but it’s definitely not a place you go to get wasted with a friend, which is what I was expecting he was down for. Then for the time, he suggested either 3-6 or 9 as that’s when their specials are on for, and I said I have no preference. He then made the executive decision to meet at 4 so we can get dinner there too.

So this isn’t just meeting for drinks anymore - it’s meeting for dinner!!! And I’m just like, okay, wow. That is not at ALL what I thought he had in mind for us but I’m obviously not complaining. I still have no idea if he’s viewing this as friends just grabbing food, but I thoroughly believe that if that was the case he wouldn’t have suggested this specific place because it’s definitely more on the upscale side. Omggggg I have no idea what to think but I’m excited!! Planning my outfit as we speak haha
