Sunni fighters say [Shia] militias, not army, should liberate Fallujah and Mosul

Did you even read my last comment?

However, it shouldn't be forgotten that former high-ranking Iraqi Baathists are involved in providing IS with highly-valuable logistics

Perhaps you missed this: "But yeah, there were about 5 guys?, and 2 were Turkmen (very small minority), and they were in the military, and nothing shows they were in the party."

The only "high ranking" guy was Abu Ali al Anbari. The nom de guerre is misleading, as he was not from Anbar and he was Turkmen. And actually the sources on him can't even decide whether he was a general or a physics teacher.

You got two guys who were 3 Lt Colonels/Colonels, Abu Muslim Al Turkmani, Abu Ayman al-Iraqi, and Haji Bakr, and there is nothing to show they were in the party, and certainly weren't "high-ranking party members", either. Haji Bakr was infamously Islamist as well. In any case, you act that in a conservative Muslim country, 3 guys in the military couldn't be Islamist. There was also Abu Abdulrahman al-Bilawi, who was a Captain which is a lowly rank. Again, no known party ties either.

So your only ranking military officer sources can't even decide whether he was in the military or he was a physics teacher or he was a flier boy party activist and he was certainly not a high-ranking Baath party member either, assuming he was in the party.

Well, there goes the argument about "former high-ranking Iraqi Baathists." They weren't even high ranking in the military, nevermind in the party they likely weren't even a part of.

Speaking of articles, here's a decent one: https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/iraq/2016-01-12/saddams-isis

But, then you also said Badr was a moderate group.

However, the only reason that they joined IS is due to the extreme sectarian rule of the Saddam regime

No.. that isn't why they joined ISIS, and this is also a rather ignorant statement.

I agree that Baath Party members are very diverse and many are moderates

Yeah it's almost like it was very diverse full of Shi'a and Sunnis and ethnic minorities, and it's almost like 99% of them got on with their lives following the US invasion and CPA Orders.
