Why Do You Support the Syrian Arab Repubic?

Is there anything wrong with the SDF that makes you support the SAR?

Here are a few of the reasons I don't support the SDF:

  • They are a proxy of the United States.

  • The dominant group in the SDF is the YPG, which is essentially the Syrian branch of the PKK. Most of the other groups used to be ISIS/JFS allies before they joined the SDF when it became convenient.

  • The SDF has attacked and murdered Syrian soldiers; they bragged about (allegedly) killing 376 pro-government fighters in 2013.

  • They've shown themselves to be incredibly dishonorable; they've repeatedly backstabbed their allies (both government and rebels).

  • They are responsible for two massacres of Syrian soldiers. First, the Afrin YPG literally sold SAA POWs who escaped Menagh airbase to JFS, who subsequently executed them. Second, the Sheikh Maqsoud YPG cut off the government's access to Handarat and Shuqayf, which caused them to be encircled in al-Kindi hospital, where they were eventually massacred.

  • They are trying to carve a Kurdish state out of the Arab nation of Syria.
