Tech Salaries in Toronto vs North America

Good points. Don't get me wrong, Canada is great because it's fairly safe, isn't war torn, and has food and water. But the balance the government wants to achieve seems to be: welfarites, working/middle-class slaves, and the wealthy. After Occupy movement and all the anti 1% shit, nothing changed. Our societies still permit the extreme wealth of the few, leaving little for the rest of us to fight over. Seems like if you aren't going to be rich, might as well just relax and wait for the cheques to roll in.

Sorry to hear about the OSAP. It was a strange system that assumed if your family wasn't homeless that they would automatically be paying your (overpriced) tuition. I knew lots of people that were excluded from OSAP for these types of reasons. So now, as you say, they get to struggle and shoulder the burden of debt which indirectly will send someone to school for free. Very odd.

I do think sometimes, 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'. If you are the CEO of your company, you decide who gets hired and the educational requirements. Or if you don't want to work at all, Canada has you covered (might be best to lie and say you are a refugee though).
