Teenagers of reddit, have you ever had a teacher so dumb you questioned how they got the job as a teacher?

I had several in high school that were very inept and made no attempt to actually teach. One was a history teacher. His method was to enter the class, not make eye contact with anybody, and start writing at the top left corner of the blackboard. The whole class was him writing from his book to the board, which would be completely filled right at the time the class would end. What you were supposed to do was follow along and write down exactly what he was writing. Then once every week or couple of weeks we would have a test, and you could use what you had written. All the answers were right there if you did actually write that shit down. But what we did was let the one of two people write it and then all just cheat off of them as their answers would radiate out to cover the room. Also had a math teacher that was perpetually intoxicated. When he gave tests he'd just leave the room for the entire time and come back at the end and collect them. Again we'd just seek out the few people that had the answers and copy whatever the fuck they had. There was this other guy who's subject I can't recall that had zero control of his classes. It was like having an entire unsupervised class left to their own devices. He would just stand and write on the board with his back to us and let all hell break loose behind him. I've seen spitballs literally the size of an orange splatter on the board after whizzing by an inch from his head. Meanwhile some of us would just get up and go out on locker raids for food, come back with 5 or 6 lunches and sit in the back with feet on desks eating stolen stuff and rolling joints. Good times. That was the 70's. I've found in life since then that most people suck at whatever job it is they have. Not everybody, but most people.
