Telling men to not be afraid of a false rape accusation because it's statistically unlikely doesn't help anything, because that's not WHY we are really afraid.

Women aren't ostracised for accusing someone of rape. Their identities are protected while the accused has no such protection. In the months or YEARS leading up to a trial, the accused will fail a background check and lose their job. Meanwhile, an accuser will stay anonymous and their family and friends whom she chooses to confide in will not cause her to "lose standing" or whatever you said.

You can NOT just say "rape sucks, so what if people get falsely accused sometimes"

A better position would be to say that some crimes are very, VERY hard to prove. Some of those crimes are bad crimes, too. But there should never, ever be a cavalier looseness to "innocent until proven guilty" or this whole fragile system of justice comes crashing down.

So, as bad as it is to try to admit this, the victim without proof of a crime should lose that battle so we aren't just a bunch of vigilantes. If some lose sometimes, it has to be the State/The People/etc.

How do you mitigate that? I don't know.
