Tempo Storm vs CLG (BO3) 7/21/15

Tempo Storm- A team with so much potential and promise that it is hard not to notice some of the skill that these guys have. Unfortunately, their track record in the NA CS:GO Professional hasn’t been the best with a record of only 10-12. However, these guys are definitely able to take games off of some of the best in the NA scene including CLG (16:11) and against kStars (16-2!) so there is always the potential that these guys could upset a higher ranked team. Taking a look at Tempo Storm’s record at the RGN Pro Series NA Group Stages, they were able to get 2nd in their groups with a record of 2-1 (losing only to CLG). Recently, they were able to beat out Team Liquid in the finals for this League impressively at 2-0 (19:16, 16:7). This game showed that they do have the individual and team skills to take out established teams like Liquid and they have also been doing pretty well on scrims on different maps. Based on past records, Tempo Storm is able to take rounds on both CT and T which is good in a BO3 game. Like I mentioned before, there is a lot of promise that is available in the team on paper and going into a BO3 against CLG, they definitely need to be able to unlock this potential to carry out a win.

CLG- The last time we saw CLG in action was against eLevate where they took a 2-1 lead to victory. The game showed that CLG is definitely one of the top teams in NA, being able to take a victory against many talented players. CLG has been able to place at 4th in the NA CS:GO Professional League with an impressive record of 14-8 managing to place higher than teams such as Liquid. Additionally, CLG managed to pull an impressive record of 3-0 in the RGN Pro Series NA Group Stages where they dominated Tempo Storm (16-4), WinOutNET (16-3), and mouseSpaz (16-2). CLG is also an extremely balanced team and they know exactly where to work their weaknesses and it is hard to say that one player in particular is carrying the entire team. They are also extremely balanced in terms of playing both CT and T sides as I looked through their past couple of games which benefits the team tremendously in a BO3. To conclude, I believe CLG is one of the more consistent teams and the majority of their losses are teams that they should have lost to and coming from a LAN event, these guys definitely have some experience and skills that they can bring forward to the upcoming game.

Overall- This is definitely one of the harder games that I have had to predict (from all 4 of them!!!) but based on what I have found, I give the slight advantage to CLG at 60-40%. Both of these teams are going to be putting their all into trying to win the game but from what I have researched, I believe that CLG will be able to pull through this series at probably 2-1. Map picks will be extremely crucial to this series and I believe that this will be a close one. Like I mentioned before, CLG is a consistent team that has been able to beat Tempo Storm in the past, but Tempo Storm is also a team that has the skill to upset a higher skilled team.
