I think constructive and destructive interference patterns are one of the keys to understanding, or at least thinking about - anomalous phenomena. That is -the mind under certain conditions (correlated with altered waveforms in the brain) - can intefer with what are normally only weakly interacting waveforms . These appear primarily as non physical or mental- from our frame of reference, because they more easily interact with the sutbler energetic states of consciousness than macroscopic energies of electromagnetism our brain has evolved to discern). However, these phenonmena can manifest physically as anomalous matter, by drawing EM energy from the local environment, probably after coupling/entangling with a human consciousness in our reality frame (as in Hitchiker effect).

I think it's because Consciousness (with a big C) is something like the underlying quantum substrate ( what anciest called the Void) interacting with itself on a like for like basis, in a way it's collapsed extentsion in spacetime cannot. (which is extended through waveguides to register and manipluate macroscopic reality. Which is also why we "appear" to effect quantum mechanical reality. The living potential field (in us) is interacting with itself at the base level of reality.
