I think a lot of the hate towards Bob Lazar is due to the fact that he came out with this information while there was still a big stigma on the UFO topic. He is labeled the crazy UFO guy. Now, even though the UFO topic is much more accepted and people can talk about it without being absolutely bonkers, the label around Bob Lazar has taken much longer to change. When someone is labeled the crazy guy he is known as that thing forever, even if the circumstances around him that made him "crazy" have changed. I do wonder how people would receive him if he came out with his story for the first time thisss year, in a time where these stories are considered much more plausible and publicly accepted
