Therapist struggling

Direct communication is always encouraged of course, but it’s possible that the therapist’s fatigue isn’t due to an extended coke binge. The question of whether OP should continue with the therapist is very important and should be addressed, and it may be best to shift to another therapist, but implying that the therapist has failed to “make OP a priority” makes me wonder if you’ve ever had a parent die, or nursed someone through cancer, or had an inexplicable attack of severe insomnia that’s difficult to corral, or had children, or had a relationship go south, or anything really. There are a million and one things that can affect a therapist’s capacity to do their job that have zero to do with how much they care about their client. So much for the spiritual village, eh?
