Was there ever a time when people could read the bible easily?

The Bible says blood red. As in the color. Don't you even know the scriptures?

Funny, here is the exact quote:

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord come.

So, now that I know you believe the Bible literally, what will happen when the moon turns into literal blood? How will this affect the tides on earth? Maybe this is the true judgement; what do you think?

Or are you being obstinate on purpose?

Nope. Just reading my Bible literally.

why the earth will fry when the ozone layer gets destroyed.

Hilarious. So now you're mixing eighties movies and Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth. Why don't yo go ahead and throw Star Wars in there too?

I have listened to the Catholic Church and realize a lot of what they teach simply isn't in the bible, or contradicts the bible.

No, it contradicts your private opinion on what the Bible means. You have already demonstrated in this thread multiple times that your understanding of hermeneutics is pretty crumby, so forgive me if I decide not to take your pet theories seriously.

I hear what a priest says, read the Bible and see that the priest is simply wrong.

Or maybe you just don't know how to interpret the Bible very well. Or are you always correct in your interpretations. Do you think that it's possible that you have every interpreted the Bible incorrectly? If so, how would you know.

And you want me to go on the falacy of man instead of God's word?

I want you to recognise that you private interpretation of the Bible is not the same thing as "God's Word". Notice that the Bible says nothing about nuclear winter - that's something that you just completely made up and foisted upon the text. So don't get all hung up on how you're just this objective reader of the Bible. You aren't. You have made up your mind to interpret Scripture in a very specific way; in a way that is not found in the Scriptures themselves.

This coming from someone who claims that revelation says the moon will turn to blood. Yeah, I don't think so.

You don't think so? Here you go! Acts II:xx in several versions.

The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood. (NIV)

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood. (NKJV)

The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood (NABRE)

the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood (KJV)

Do I need to go on, Mr Bible Scholar?
