“There’s anti-Semitism in the White House”: What made the Anne Frank Center get political on Twitter

Not OP but honestly you both have some merit, I think the comparison of all lives matter vs black lives matter is quite good actually, because black lives matter is about blacks in particular being discriminated against by the state.

Other minorities get discriminated against as well, but the history of blacks in America is systemic, targeted state sponsored discrimination. They were slaves, and then second class citizens. We dont deny that the most vile strain of racism seen in America has historically been directed at blacks.

Systemic discrimination by the state against any group is wrong, but similar to the Holocaust Hitler made a point of making the jews specifically his enemy. His rise to was directly linked to antisemitism specifically and racial superiority of germanic peoples as sort of a broader message.

If that makes sense maybe you can see why diminishing jews specifically in the context of the holocost matters. In doing so we do not deny the reality that many people including non-jews were killed, we simply high-light that a specific race was targeted for complete eradication, genocide, and used as a political scapegoat to rally hatred and fear against.
