Is there a way the team becomes competitive again without a complete rebuild?

The Blackhawks don’t have much cap left for next season. The acquisitions of Maatta, Haan, Shaw, cost us a great player, good picks and a whole bunch of cap space.

Hear this out, would this team be better with those 3, or over 12 million dollars in cap space plus Kahun and some draft picks? Clearly Bowman thought the first option was better.

It gets even worse when you consider we lost Joki for basically nothing. Nylander is never going to develop into whatever the fuck Bowman thought he was getting.

This past offseason alone made this team much, much worse.

The Shaw situation was unfortunate, but come on. His contract is obviously rich, and it doesn’t help that Bowman gave away second round picks for him.
